I remember Seamus Mcgreevy falling into the trench at
Gransha. It was Paul McIlhatton who saved him. He was talked about as a real
hero for years later

Hi Jimmy: Speaking of the Coolers, I fondly remember
squeezing under the fence to get inside. We use to sunbath on the roof of the
change rooms. I recall how hot that metal roof was, and how cold the water was.
I loved using the coolers and the rest of the park. My bother John and I used to
watch the bowlers play. Occasionally we'd run across the pich to kick the bowl.
HA ! It's a really pity that the coolers were closed down.
If you folks
have any pictures put them up for all of us to see.
Bernard

I thought that this website would bring old friends and
neighbors together again, to see how and what they are doing. To Kieran
Cunningham, from Whidby Ontario, my brother Joe lives in Ajax and I think he
goes for a beer with your brother Jimmy now and again. All the best hope to hear
from everyone soon.

I remember the coolers just like yesterday,Flash and paddy
wilson were life guards,Lining up to get in throught the turnstile,or climbing
over the railings,Kids squeezing between the railing, that was the best park in
belfast as far as we were concerned.Ilearned how to dive from the top boards
there,do back flips, and nobody ever said "stop that running"the fall park and
the coler were brillant when i was growing up.so it was neat to see all the old
photos. "Brillant"anyway live in canada now (whitby ontario)and came across
your site,Hope everyone in turf lodge sound,if anyone knows my ma,kathleen
Cunningham tell her i logged on,great to see turf lodge and its great people on
the internet.

Matt may I first congratulate you on your explicit manner of
how you so easily make those around you feel at ease and somewhat special and
loved and cered about,it is your easy going manner that makes people feel you
have known them all there lives, and theres an almost
uncle/grandfather[ha,ha]type of bond with you, I Paul was personelly put at ease
in your pressence and your words of praise and comfort just wiped away all my
thoughts and feelings and my ability to hold a conversation with you was so
easy, if there is anyone who has to read this e.mail and has anything to with
nominations for Bishop or cardinal,or indeed any ranking representitive within
the catholic church, please attach this and I am sure orther e.mails ,as part of
ant resumy that that may need posted, because in my honest opinion this Man is
what catholasism represents, unselfishnes and free will,Matt you are a living
Saint. GOD BLESS.Paul Maguire

I would just like to say how sorry and sad i am to hear
about the death of Angela Murray. I knew Angela (nee Wylie) from school and
remember her well. She was a lovely girl, full of fun and had a smile for
everyone. She had a great personality; wonderful sense of humour and she made us
all laugh frequently. I can visualise Angela quite clearly in my mind, just
as she was all those years ago. Always bubbly and always smiling. My thoughts
and prayers are with her family at this sad time.
